WELCOME BACK

Sunday, September 30, 2018 7:00 PM

As we start a new Scouting year welcome to all members both returning and new! There are skills to be learned, adventures to be had and friends waiting. We are not yet in a position to offer Beavers for the 2018-2019 year. To date, no one has stepped forward to become a leader in this program. We need at least 2 volunteers before Scouts Canada will allow us to operate the program. We must maintain a ratio of 1 adult to every 5 youth and practice good risk management skills so no adult is left alone with a child other than their own. If you think the program is worthwhile for your child, please consider volunteering. Training is available online and Terri Briggs is knowledgeable on the program elements and is willing to assist any volunteers. Some of the activities we are working on include: Apple Day - October 13th. We are asking every family to volunteer for 2 1 hour shifts. Haunted Forest - October 27th - this is a Town sponsored event and a fundraiser for the group Remembrance Day - as the Legion is our sponsor it is important to give back by supporting this event. The date of the parade is November 11th. Santa Claus Parade - November 27th - we will be submitting a float and are looking for ideas for decorations. All Cubs and Scouts are asked to consider walking the parade. It is approximately 3 km.
