HALLOWEEN PARTY
Friday, October 27, 2017 7:00 PM

Pin the nose on the witch, make a ghost drift across the floor, toss some eyeballs. These are just a few things we might do at our annual Halloween party. The only restriction is no Cubs allowed! If you forget your costume you will have to wear something out of Akela's trunk... Since we will be playing games try not to bring any weapons.

REMEMBRANCE DAY PARADE
Sunday, November 5, 2017 7:00 PM

We will walking in the Aurora Remembrance Day parade to pay our respects to men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom as well as assisting our sponsor - Royal Canadian Legion. We will meet at 10:15 at G.W. Williams High School on Dunning Ave and walk to the Cenotaph for the ceremony and present a wreath and then walk back. Please try to participate in this special event as the Royal Canadian Legion is our group sponsor. There will be a lunch served at the Legion after the parade for those who are interested.

Caboose Camp
Friday, November 17, 2017 7:00 PM

November 17-19, 2017 We are camping in the Cabooses at Woodland Trails. Space is limited to 16 beds so book your spot quickly. Parents are welcome to attend but they may not be able to sleep over. Further details to follow.

SANTA CLAUS PARADE
Saturday, November 25, 2017 7:00 PM

We are marching in the Aurora Santa Claus parade. Participation in the parade counts towards a requirement for the hiking badge. The parade route is approximately 3 kms. We will meet at St. Andrew's plaza by no later than 5:15. Please look for the Scouting flags. At tthe end of the parade all parade participants need to check in with the leaders before departure to ensure that all youth have been accounted for. If you have any ideas for our float and are willing to help on the committee please contact Terri at packB.ak@5thaurora.com. We will be decorating the float starting at 10 a.m. at Akela's home.

Each Cub is required to wear their Uniform to and from Camp

(Gear should be marked for easy identification)

Extra blanket

Toiletries

Wash Cloth / Towel                                                   Toothbrush & Paste

Plate, cup, bowl, cutlery & mesh bag to hold      Soap & Comb

Sun Block                                                                   Bug Repellant

(If possible, please no sprays – as they are not good for the tent material)

 

Clothes  - dress for expected weather

Two or three changes of clothing                            Underwear (enough for 3 days)

T-shirts 3-4                                                                 Long Pants & shorts

Pajamas – 2 pairs (extra for emergencies)           Splash Pants

AURORA STREET SALE

Every year the 5th Aurora has a booth at the street sale to talk about Scouting and show off Baloo's campfire blanket, etc. The booth is usually manned by Akela and Scouters Fiona and Jim but we would appreciate any assistance from parents who might be willing to help out for an hour or two during the day. If you are interested in volunteering, please speak to Akela Terri.
